Civil Registry

The Registry handles cases related to contracts, tenancy and Tort – Defamation, Nuisance, Negligence, Trespass, strict liability cases, disputes related to leadership in Churches,

Professional bodies, Clubs, Miscellaneous Civil Applications and accident cases among others. The Division also hears appeals from Magistrates Courts, Tribunals and Small Claims Court. Civil cases in the High Court are governed by the Civil Procedure Act, Cap 21, the Civil Procedure Rules, 2010 and the High Court Practice Directions or any other rules gazzetted by the Chief Justice.
