Principal Registry is a central registry headed by Principal Registrar (Registrar High Court) that links all the courts (High Court, Magistrate Court and Kadhis Court) handling probate and administration cases (succession matters). The registry issues a Certificate for every Succession Cause filed in the country confirming that no other cause has been filed in respect of the same estate in more than one court. The Principal Registry also acts as a linkage between the court’s stations handling succession matters and the Government printers for publication of their matters.
The Principal Registry is established under Rule 3 (1) of the Probate and Administration rules under the Laws of Succession.
